The president of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee, K. Therie slammed MP Phangnon Konyak’s recent “Don’t mix religion with politics” remark by calling her “ignorant” and pointed out that it is the BJP who is mixing religion with politics.

“The world knows it is BJP who is mixing religion with politics. If you stand by your theme, ‘Don’t mix religion with politics’, then prove it by resigning in protest against your party for mixing religion with politics,” Therie said to Konyak in a press release.

He then went on to say that BJP is”invading Christians, Muslims and minorities just like Russia attacking Ukraine.” He then drew an analogy about the position of Christians and other minorities before BJP to that of Russia attacking Ukraine and how there would be peace if Russia stopped attacking.

Therie further went on to remind her of the persecution of Christians, beginning from Graham Staines and his two sons Philip and Timothy who were burnt alive by Dara Singh – a member of the Bajrang Dal, one of the frontals of RSS & BJP.

He also called out how just two days back a BJP spokesperson attacked the Prophet earning ire from the Muslims nations across the World and resulting in the summoning of Indian envoys in multiple countries.

Therie then accused Phangnon of compromising with the loss of 14 youths in a ‘meaningless unexplained massacre’ and for hiding the conspirators. He also said that the BJP sprouted out of RSS and that BJP MPs have “openly declared to eliminate Christians” and reminded her of the demolition of “over 395 Churches and Institutions.”

Therie then added, “Pastors and wives were undressed and paraded, Sisters shamed, Holy Bible burnt, Mosques demolished and century old shrines under dispute – all by your party BJP’s Bhakts with the backing of BJP Govt.,” and alleged that Phangnon, having known all about it, consciously joined the BJP, “an anti-Christian party.”

In conclusion, Therie said their basis of the fight for his party is ”Justice for all” and that they will defend and protect their faith and identity, come what may. “Sooner or later, we will deliver justice to your fallen brothers too,” the press release concluded.
