The Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench, on Friday launched three digital initiatives for the district judiciary of Nagaland – the Court e-Malkhana, High Court e-CarPass System and an RTI Portal.
The initiatives were launched by Justice Devashis Baruah, Judge, Gauhati High Court, during a program organized by the Kohima Bench in collaboration with the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) at Nguyusem Multipurpose Hall, Kohima.
Justice Baruah said the Court e-Malkhana would help in the management and handling of case-related properties and contribute to greater efficiency, transparency and accountability in the judicial system.
He also highlighted the importance of the Right to Information Act, 2005, stating that access to justice, transparency and information are important components of a fair and accountable system.
The program included an Electronic Court Technology (ECT) training session and a panel discussion on Article 371A of the Constitution.
Senior Advocate and President of the High Court Bar Association CT Jamir and Advocate TB Jamir were the panellists, with Advocate Toshi O Longkumer moderating the discussion.
The program was organized for advocates and advocates’ clerks.
