Three young Naga footballers—Manpa Konyak, Viselie Vasa, and Thangginhao — have signed with Corbett Football Club to play in the AIFF U-17 Elite Youth I-League this season.
This was confirmed by the U-17 Nagaland State Junior Boys Management Team, who recently traveled to Assam to compete in the BC Roy National Sub-Junior Football Trophy on Wednesday. The players were spotted by Corbett Football Club from Uttarakhand during the Sub-Junior National Football Championship held in Assam.
The management team congratulated the players for their dedication and success in earning a spot in the U-17 Elite Youth I-League. “The boys’ hard work has truly paid off. After their impressive performance on the national stage, Corbett Football Club from Uttarakhand selected them for the Elite Youth I-League, which will commence next month,” said the management team.
According to an update from the management team, the young players arrived in Delhi this evening to join the club for their preparation.
The management team also extended their appreciation to the Nagaland Football Association (NFA) for providing this invaluable opportunity at the U-17 BC Roy Trophy National Football Tournament, held in Nagaon, Assam, from July 28 to August 11, 2024. This opportunity allowed the players to represent and showcase the state’s talent on a national stage. The team hopes the association will continue to offer more platforms and exposure in the future, enabling players to achieve significant progress and reach greater heights.
