Mokokchung, March 13 (MTNews): The District AgroMet Unit (DAMU), KVK Mokokchung has in a press release informed that thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind with wind speed of 30-50 kmph is very likely at isolated places in Nagaland from 14 to 17 March . It also forecasted thunderstorms at isolated places on 15 March and has cautioned people to stay alert.

 

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department has on Monday informed through a press release that a cyclonic circulation lies over south Assam and neighborhood in lower tropospheric levels. Under its influence, isolated to scattered light rainfall activity with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds are very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and northeast India during 13 -14 March, it forecasted.

 

Further, the IMD also informed that due to likely interaction of middle tropospheric westerly trough with lower level easterly winds over central parts of Peninsular India, East and Northeast India, scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall activity with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds are likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and northeast India during 15 -17 March and with isolated hailstorm over the region on 15 March. It also predicted isolated heavy rainfall likely over Arunachal Pradesh on 15 March.
