The Tzurangkong Students’ Conference (TKM) has entered day 3 of its protest against the non-deployment of adequate teachers in government schools within the Tzurangkong range under Mokokchung district.
It should be noted that the students of Tzurangkong Government Schools had missed two days of classes since the agitation began on October 26.

Speaking to Mokokchung Times, TKM President Imlisunep said that the protest will continue till their demands are met.
The TKM has in an earlier press release expressed dissatisfaction over the redeployment order issued on October 26 by the Department of School Education (DoSE) for which the student body had demanded “just and rational” redeployment.

“The department has yet to respond positively. We will continue to agitate in this manner until a just and rational deployment is implemented,” said the president.
Earlier on October 27, the apex Ao Students’ Conference, AKM, expressed support for the TKM’s demand, claiming that the recent rationalization of teachers in the State has created a rather “obnoxious environment,” particularly for students.
