Traffic advisory for Moatsü Festival 2025 in Mokokchung

Mokokchung Police has announced a traffic regulation in connection with the Moatsü Festival 2025 (Mini Hornbill) scheduled to take place at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung Town. The traffic arrangements will be effective from 1st to 2nd May 2025 to ensure smooth movement during the festival.

The following traffic regulations will be implemented:

1. Alternate Routes for Vehicles: All vehicles passing through Mokokchung town are advised to take alternate routes via “Sewak to Main Police point via IMDH” or “Sewak to Rotary point via IOC (Yimyu)” to avoid congestion near the event venue.

2. Restriction on Heavy Vehicles: All heavy vehicles will be restricted from entering Mokokchung Town between 07:30 am and 6:00 pm to facilitate smooth traffic flow during festival hours.

3. Parking for Two-Wheelers: Two-wheeler riders attending the festival are requested to park their vehicles along the designated route from Dr. SC Jamir’s residence to the Yongpang Market Police point.

4. Residents living near the Imkongmeren Sports Complex are urged not to bring their vehicles to the venue in order to avoid traffic congestion around the festival grounds.

5. Designated Parking Areas: Specific parking areas have been allocated for different groups and attendees:
* 12 Assam Rifle’s ground: General public
* Main Public ground: VVIPs and VIPs
* Public ground between stalls: Organizing Committee
* Outside Badminton Stadium: District HODs
* P Shilu Park: Tribal Hohos, CNTC, TUN, ENPO, Ao Senden, Sanen Luden & Federating Units
* MGHSS: Former Presidents of Ao Senden & Tzukong Mungdang
* Mascot Den/Axis Bank: MMC, Tuli, Changtongya, & Mangkolemba Town Councilors
