ABAM Social Concern, under the Women Ministry, organized a 10-day intensive residential training programme titled “Training in Counselling Skills for Drug Abuse and Prevention” from May 9–19, 2025, at Impur.
The programme was conducted using an experiential methodology and emphasized counselling skills within a framework addressing pre-treatment motivation, detoxification, peer support from Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), rehabilitation, and prevention from a holistic (Bio-Psycho-Social-Spiritual) perspective.
The training was facilitated by the Dr. B. J. Prashantham Institute of Counselling Psychology (PIC), Christian Counselling Centre, Vellore – 9, Tamil Nadu, India.
A total of 15 participants from 11 churches attended the training.
