Training programme on AI and multidisciplinary research held at Nagaland University

A one-day training programme on artificial intelligence (AI) and multidisciplinary research was held at the Multidisciplinary Research Centre (MDRC), Nagaland University, Lumami, on August 7.

Titled “Igniting Young Minds: A Training Programme on Artificial Intelligence and Multidisciplinary Research”, the programme began with the felicitation of chief guest Prof. J.K. Patnaik, Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University. Prof. Ambrish Singh, Coordinator of MDRC, delivered the welcome address, while Dr. Thejano chaired the programme and Dr. Alka introduced the MDRC.

A cultural programme featuring a solo rap on women’s safety and a group song was also held.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Patnaik highlighted the importance of education in Northeast India and the role of MDRC in promoting multidisciplinary research. He encouraged students to use the SWAYAM platform for learning and skill development.

Prof. Ambrish Singh delivered an expert talk on “Artificial Intelligence”, emphasising the judicious use of AI in everyday life. The session focused on the growing relevance of AI across disciplines and its opportunities and challenges.

The programme encouraged students to explore AI, multidisciplinary research and emerging avenues for academic and skill development.
