A two-day training on Navjaat Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (04) for healthcare workers was held at the IMDH Conference Hall, Mokokchung, from 9th to 10th September 2025. The objective of the training was to equip health workers with skills for basic newborn care and resuscitation in order to reduce neonatal mortality.

Dr. Limanaro, DPO (UIP & RCH), in her brief speech, highlighted the purpose of conducting the training and encouraged participants to be attentive in order to acquire essential knowledge and skills to provide optimal care to neonates in health facilities, thereby improving the health status of newborns.

Dr. Imlisenba, Paediatrics, the resource person for the training, imparted basic information about the NSSK programme and trained health workers on preparedness of delivery and birth equipment, infection prevention, actions to be taken at birth and during routine care, steps for positive pressure ventilation, observation and care for mother and child, neonatal resuscitation, breastfeeding, Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC), immunization, and discharge and follow-up planning.
