The Tzüla Green Zone Project (TGZP) successfully organized the River Angling Festival 1.0 on October 31 and November 1, 2025, at the Tzüla River in Mokokchung. The two-day event brought together anglers, artists, and nature enthusiasts in a celebration of river life, sustainable fishing, and environmental awareness.

The angling competition witnessed enthusiastic participation, with Lolenpenba winning the Biggest Catch award, Toshilemba securing the Most Catches title, Imkongchuba (59 years) receiving the Senior Angler Award, and the Junior Angler Award going to five-year-old Marlong Jamir. A total of 23 anglers participated in the competition.

A painting competition was also organized to encourage creativity and environmental awareness among young artists. The winners were Limana Ozukum (first prize), Watimenla (second prize), and Menagyangla (third prize). All the participants and winners were students from Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung.

According to the organizers, the River Angling Festival was aimed at promoting eco-tourism, responsible angling practices, and river conservation under TGZP’s larger effort to safeguard the Tzüla River ecosystem.
The TGZP team expressed gratitude to all participants, partners, and volunteers for their active involvement and support in making the festival a success.
