Wokha emerged victorious over Tseminyu with a 5-wicket win in a low-scoring encounter at the 5th Late G. Rio Memorial Men’s U19 Inter-District Cricket Tournament 2025, played at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Chümoukedima.
Batting first, Tseminyu struggled to build partnerships and were bowled out for just 77 runs in 31.5 overs. Ayub and Sonyelo Kent were the only batters to reach double digits, scoring 16 and 15 runs respectively. Wokha’s Krishna Kumar led a disciplined bowling attack, claiming 4 wickets for 17 runs in 10 overs, choking the run flow and dismantling Tseminyu’s middle order.
In reply, Wokha reached the target in 22.2 overs, finishing at 79 for 5. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, the chase was anchored by Liren M Jungio, who remained unbeaten on 17 off 22 balls, and Shahil Uddin Laskar with a patient 17 off 44 balls. Tseminyu’s Sokelo Semp put up a commendable effort, taking 3 for 22 in 6 overs, but the low target proved insufficient.
Krishna Kumar was named Player of the Match for his match-defining spell.
