ULB Elections: Model Code of Conduct enforced in Medziphema

Additional Deputy Commissioner and Returning officer, Medziphema Town Council, P James Swu has informed all concerned parties that the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) has been enforced upon the announcement of elections to the Urban Local Bodies, scheduled to be held on June 26, 2024, by the State Election Commission. This is for the guidance of political parties and candidates, and it has come into immediate effect within the jurisdiction of the Medziphema Town Council area.

The Model Code of Conduct shall be applicable to all candidates, political parties, and state government machinery.

It may be mentioned here that the urban local bodies (ULB) elections in Nagaland are scheduled to be held on 26 June with 33% reservation of seats for women.

This will be the first-ever ULB elections in the state to be held with 33 percent reservation for women.
