Mokokchung, March 14 (MTNews): The spokesperson of Nationalists Congress Party (NCP) S Toiho Yeptho, on Tuesday, while speaking to Northeast Live said that the party has already had about two rounds of discussion with Chief Minister Rio and that the NCP have unanimously decided to support Rio’s government even if no portfolios were offered.
“We have a very good relationship with our Chief Minister,” Yeptho told the news outlet referring to their 7 MLAs who won the Nagaland Assembly Election 2023.
According to him, all seven of them had known Rio for quite some time and thus, it is nothing new to any of them to join him.
“We had communicated with our party supremo Sharad Pawar and he had given the approval to join the government,” Yeptho added.
He went on to say that their letter of support was ‘unconditional’ and, therefore, they will be a part of the government and strengthen the government because people have voted for Neiphiu Rio to lead the Naga people as the leader.
“We heard them and accordingly, we are supporting the government. So, whether any portfolios or assignments will be given to us or not, we have written for unconditional support,” he added.
