Governor Ganesan emphasized the importance of strengthening the existing ties between the two states and enriching the cultural fabric of the nation. He spoke about India’s unity in diversity, celebrating the rich socio-cultural and religious history of Uttar Pradesh, often referred to as the “Heartland of India.” He highlighted the state’s classical Kathak dance, intricate Banarasi silk, and Lucknowi chikankari embroidery as symbols of its artistic brilliance.

The Governor also pointed out Uttar Pradesh’s spiritual significance, mentioning prominent religious sites such as Varanasi, Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Sarnath, and Kushinagar. These locations, he said, unite millions of pilgrims from around the world, embodying the spirit of faith, harmony, and devotion.

Reflecting on the warm relationship between the people of Nagaland and Uttar Pradesh, the Governor recalled how the Nagas fondly refer to the people of Uttar Pradesh as “Desh wale,” signifying an affectionate connection. He praised the contributions of the people from Uttar Pradesh to Nagaland, particularly in business and construction, which have significantly contributed to the state’s growth and progress.

The Governor acknowledged the role of Uttar Pradesh in fostering unity, encouraging continued efforts towards prosperity and harmony between the two communities.
