Vigilance Awareness Week held at Nagaland University

Zunheboto, 6 November (MTNews): The Vigilance Awareness Week, as directed by the CVC, was observed at Nagaland University from October 31, 2023, to November 5, 2023. During this period, there was a strong emphasis on the importance of vigilance for both citizens and organizations. In addition to formal programs, various awareness activities such as an Online Quiz were organized, along with a pledge-taking ceremony for the University employees. The directions also provided for e-pledges for the employees through the website.

The formal event featured a short briefing by the Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Prof JK Patnaik, who also served as the Chief Guest. He spoke about the relevance of vigilance from a legal perspective and its benefits in relation to the University. He emphasized the need for a constant commitment to honesty and integrity for the growth and development of the University.

Furthermore, the Finance Officer, Mr Albert Khizo, explained elementary aspects of vigilance, providing awareness about its relevance and practical applications in organizations. An academic resource person, Prof Dasarathi Bhuyian from the Political Science department, delivered a brief lecture on the topic of anti-corruption, offering insights and opinions that were quite informative.

The pledge was administered and guided by the Registrar, Dr Abemo, with the participation of important officials and staff of the University. The program was chaired by Mrs Priyanka Sengar, IAO, NU, and formally welcomed by Mrs Angunuo Kheiya, DR Finance/ DDO. The event concluded with a vote of thanks given by Mr Kahoshe Sumi, DR Finance/ GAD. The program was attended by faculty members, administrative staff, and students.
