Dimapur, October 30 (MTNews): To promote fine Arts in Nagaland and to encourage the budding artists, Wandering Minds organized its 1st Inter-school Painting Competition on October 22, the prize distribution of which was done on October 29.

 

A total of 427 students registered for the said competition from around 33 different schools in and around Dimapur, an update from Wandering Minds said.

 

There were a total of 10 Consolation Prize winners along with the First, Second and Third Prize Winners respectively from each of the 16 categories. The LKG and UKG students from various schools were also presented with prizes in order to encourage more participation in the field of fine arts, the update said.

 

St. Mary’s Hr. Sec School was adjudged the champion team while Little Star Hr. Sec. School and Holy Cross Hr. Sec. School received the first and second runners up respectively.

 

The event also witnessed art exhibitions where different artworks of the students were put up on display. “Looking at its success, Wandering Minds team has plans to make it an annual event,” it added.
