Mokokchung, 17 July (MTNews): In an effort to foster a conducive entrepreneurial environment and establish a network of women entrepreneurs in Nagaland, the Women Entrepreneurs Network Nagaland (WENN) organized a workshop in Mokokchung. The event took place on 17 July at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall in Mokokchung.
The primary objective of the workshop was to provide support and guidance to women entrepreneurs and women-led businesses, encouraging their growth and success. WENN, a network of women entrepreneurs, aims to create an ecosystem that promotes and nurtures women’s entrepreneurship in Nagaland. Membership to WENN is open to all women entrepreneurs and women-led businesses in the state.
Tsüvisie Phoji NCS, the Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, addressed the participants during the workshop. He commended WENN for their efforts in establishing a network with local women entrepreneurs and emphasized the importance of collaboration and unity among them. While acknowledging that there are more women entrepreneurs in Kohima and Dimapur due to their status as the state capital and commercial hub, he stressed that Mokokchung also offers ample opportunities for entrepreneurial growth.
Referring to Mokokchung as the “Land of Pioneers,” he highlighted the availability of necessary resources and raw materials. He also urged the entrepreneurs to explore the potential for business expansion beyond the district into neighboring areas such as Zunheboto, Wokha, Tuensang, Noklak, Shamator, Longleng, and Mon.
The workshop saw the participation of around 40 women entrepreneurs and officials from Watsü Mungdang. The State Bank of India (SBI), as the knowledge partner, extended its support to the event, furthering the goal of empowering women entrepreneurs in Nagaland.
