The Western Sümi Hoho (WSH) has expressed appreciation for the Chief Minister’s timely visit to landslide-affected areas, highlighting his commitment to citizens’ welfare. The organization also commended Zhaleo Rio, Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, for his visit to the affected regions and his efforts to address community concerns.

The WSH called for tangible actions to follow these visits, urging the provision of financial compensation and relief materials for families and individuals in Pherima and other areas devastated by recent landslides. The organization emphasized that this assistance is crucial for addressing the immediate needs of those who have suffered catastrophic losses.

Regarding the Capital Bypass Road project, WSH reminded the authorities that the demands by two villages were settled long ago. The WSH demanded immediate resumption of work on the Capital Bypass route and strongly objected to the subcontracting arrangements.

“These arrangements, initially awarded to M/s. Vilelie Khamo & Sons and subsequently subcontracted to M/s. Hi-Tech Construction & Co and another third party, require a comprehensive review,” the WSH stated. It maintained that the review should include verification of subcontractors’ qualifications, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards, and close monitoring of project progress.

“We hold M/s. Vilelie Khamo & Sons, M/s. Hi-Tech Construction & Co, and the third-party subcontractor accountable for assuming full responsibility and executing the project with utmost dedication, recognizing its significance as a vital alternative to NH29, currently affected by landslides,” the WSH added.
