Wokha, 26 October (MTNews): Advisor Mhathung Yanthan inaugurated the Multipurpose Hall at Sanis Zero Point, Wokha, Nagaland on 25 October 2023. During the program’s second session, NPSC achievers of 2023 from Sanis A/C and the Project GoEmploy Sensitization were felicitated.
In his speech, Yanthan emphasized the purpose of Project GoEmploy, highlighting its aims and objectives to provide employment and career-related opportunities for the youth of his constituency. The project primarily aims to address the substantial skill gap that many individuals face and was his political commitment during his second term as a people’s representative.
Yanthan mentioned that this initiative is designed to empower the unemployed by imparting essential skills and equipping them for future opportunities. “As part of our efforts, we conducted a comprehensive survey to create a database of youth, and the response to interest mapping has been remarkable, showing their eagerness and enthusiasm,” Yanthan stated.
He clarified that the project is not a formal government initiative but rather an encouragement for the youth to consider a broader spectrum of career paths. He urged a shift in perspective from a singular focus on government employment to a more diversified approach that encompasses the private sector and entrepreneurial ventures. He also emphasized that government jobs are valuable and have their merits but suggested that overreliance on them may contribute to the issue of unemployment in the state, given the saturation point of government job opportunities.
Yanthan added that their mission is to promote a diverse range of employment avenues, including both government and private sector employment, and entrepreneurship.
The program also included career counseling sessions by Pinnacle Skills, Emporium Skill Institute, and H&A Arms Incorporation, followed by an interactive session.
The inauguration program was chaired by SDO (Civil) Sanis, and Ringo Odyuo chaired the second session. Khodao Mozhui, Pastor of Hajang Baptist Church, delivered the Dictatory prayer, while Daniel Humtsoe presented a report on the building. The opening remarks and welcome address were proposed by the chairman.
