Wokha, 9 February (MTNews): In a significant development regarding the widening project of NH61 (new NH 2) in Nagaland, the Deputy Commissioner Wokha Ajit Kumar Jain IAS authorities have issued an urgent appeal to Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Wokha district to suspend their indefinite bandh.

The appeal comes following a meeting between the Chief Engineer of PWD (NH), Nagaland, Kohima, and representatives of the contractor involved in the project. After extensive discussions, the contractor has committed to resume work in accordance with the agreed terms and conditions.

It added that the mobilization of machinery and manpower is already underway.

In light of these developments, the DC appealed to all concerned Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) under Wokha district to keep the indefinite bandh in abeyance.

Meanwhile, the CSOs have issued an 8-point rejoinder to the contractor firm M/s TTC Infra India’s press release that was published in this newspaper yesterday. (Full text hereAMP)
