The construction of the new Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex at Wokha is progressing satisfactorily and is on schedule for completion by May 2027, Assistant Chief Engineer (ACE), Civil Administration Works Division (CAWD), Er. Sungtiba Amer, said during a departmental inspection on Friday.
Er. Amer, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, K. Mhathung Tsanglao, NCS, and a team of CAWD officials and administrative officers, reviewed the overall progress of the project, inspected key structural components and assessed the pace of work against the approved construction schedule.
Expressing satisfaction with the progress made so far, Er. Amer said the project was advancing steadily and voiced confidence that it would be completed within the stipulated timeframe. He commended the executing agency for maintaining good progress and stressed the importance of sustaining the current pace to meet the target completion date.
He also highlighted the role of regular departmental inspections in ensuring quality construction, identifying challenges at an early stage and facilitating the timely completion of key government infrastructure projects.
The new Wokha Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex is being constructed as a G+1 building with two basement floors. It is designed to accommodate multiple administrative departments under one roof to improve administrative efficiency and public service delivery. The work order for the project was issued in June 2025 with a completion period of 36 months. The project was approved by the State Level Project Monitoring and Implementation Committee (SLPMIC).
As part of the inspection tour, Er. Amer also visited Tseminyu, where he inspected the construction of the new Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex, a flat-type quarter and the proposed Deputy Commissioner’s bungalow along with Deputy Commissioner Japheth Woch, NCS.
The Tseminyu DC Office Complex, funded under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme and State funding, is designed as a G+2 reinforced cement concrete (RCC) building with a 150-seat conference hall, accessibility features for persons with disabilities and provisions for an elevator.
The inspection concluded in Mokokchung, where Er. Amer, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, inspected the proposed site for the new Additional Deputy Commissioner’s residence and the ongoing construction of flat-type officers’ quarters.
During the tour, Er. Amer reiterated that the timely completion of key administrative infrastructure is essential for strengthening governance and enhancing public service delivery across the state.
