Wokha, January 18 (MTNews): During today’s DPDB meeting in the DC’s conference hall in Wokha, the Wokha District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) resolved to propose the State Government for the establishment of a Modern Slaughter House.

Ajit Kumar Ranjan, IAS, Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman, DPDB Wokha, presided over the meeting. During the meeting, the house discussed registration of the ESEN Electrical Society, a report on the slaughterhouse, a review of the CMHIS for the Wokha area, and election preparations.

 

While stressing the situation of the slaughter house in Wokha town, Dr Mhonchan Shitiri proposed that the slaughter house be located away from residential areas and have good hygiene facilities. He further stated that, in accordance with the DPDB’s directive, a committee composed of the ADC & Administrator Wokha Town Council, CVO, CMO, and FSO Wokha has been constituted to verify the status of the slaughter house in the town area.

 

Accordingly, the team inspected the slaughter houses in and around Wokha town and made the following suggestions: relocation of the present slaughter house and lairage away from residential areas, transportation regulation, animal slaughter licensing and meat inspection, and meat scale counter regulation. The committee also suggested that the district need to have a modern slaughterhouse, which the board members discussed and decided to request from the State government the establishment of a modern slaughterhouse in the district.

 

On the review of CMHIS for Wokha district, the DC encouraged those departments that have not yet registered to do so as soon as possible for the benefit of all government employees. While briefing members on the upcoming election, Ranjan stated that after the election is announced, the election Mode of Conduct would be enforced, in which all department heads and personnel will be assigned various responsibilities to carry out in order for the election to go smoothly. He also urged all concerned to gear up to ensure that there is no laxity on the part of the employees while executing election related activities.

 

He claimed that the goal is to ensure that there is no violence and no re-poll in the district during the upcoming election. The DC further warned that no government servants or employees should participate in or partake in any election activity that promotes a certain candidate. He added that lapses on the side of government employees during the election process will be taken seriously and action will be taken, with zero tolerance for those erring employees, and he urged all to perform their assigned responsibilities with utmost dedication.
