Wokha, 9 September (MTNews): Inter-school U-16 boys cricket tournament 2023-24 organized by Wokha District Cricket Association (WDCA) under the aegis of Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) ended in a joint winner at Wokha local ground on Saturday. The final day was marred by rain and GHSS and Spring Dale School were declared the joint winners. Seven schools participated in the tournament which was conducted under the direction of NCA to promote and popularize the gentleman’s game to every school and village.

Libemo Jami, District Youth Resources Officer and District Sports Officer in-charge, Wokha graced the closing function as special invitee. Jami in his short speech congratulated the winners and lauded the NCA, WDCA and all the school managements in the district for encouraging the students in the field of sports and inculcating positive mindset through physical education.

 

The organizers also informed that 30 probable players have been selected from the tournament to represent WDCA Xl in the Winter Cricket Challenge and U-16 inter-district tournaments.

 

Tumben Jami from Spring Dale School was adjudged the player of the tournament.
