The National Ayush Mission (NAM) observed World Homoeopathy Day at the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare in Kohima on April 10 under the theme “Homoeopathy for Sustainable Health.”
Dr. Akuo Sorhie, former Mission Director, NAM/NHM, highlighted the role of homoeopathy in strengthening a holistic healthcare system. Dr. Sentimeren Aonok, Director (Health), encouraged practitioners to contribute towards sustainable healthcare.
A ceremonial cake cutting by Dr. Keveduyi Theyo, Mission Director, NAM/NHM, marked the 271st birth anniversary of Samuel Hahnemann. The programme was chaired by Dr. T. Bendangtula, Deputy Director (Ayush), while Dr. Seyiekhrietuo John delivered the vote of thanks.
An Ayush plants nursery was also inaugurated by Dr. Mereninla Senlem, Principal Director, DH&FW, to promote traditional medicine and conserve indigenous plants.
The initiative by the State Medicinal Plants Board aims to support cultivation and development of medicinal plants in Nagaland.
