The Chief Medical Officer, Kiphire, in collaboration with Government High School Yangphi, observed Menstrual Hygiene Day on 28th May 2025 under the theme “Breaking Taboos and Raising Awareness About the Importance of Good Menstrual Hygiene Management.” The program was chaired by Seli Anar, DCM NHM.

Yangmoi AMN, RBSK, spoke on menstrual hygiene, highlighting the importance of maintaining hygiene during the menstrual cycle and adopting proper waste disposal practices. She also emphasized the need to empower women so that every woman and girl can manage menstruation with dignity and confidence. She concluded that menstruation is not an embarrassing topic and should be discussed openly and honestly to break down stigmas and promote understanding.

Dr. T. Yelo Mero, DPO UIP/RCH, spoke on the “Stop Diarrhoea Campaign.” While briefing on diarrhoea, he encouraged everyone to spread awareness about the disease, promote the use of ORS and zinc tablets, and emphasize hygiene practices. He stated that the campaign aims to achieve zero child deaths due to childhood diarrhoea. The campaign will be observed in two phases: the preparatory phase (2nd–15th June 2025) and the implementation phase (16th–31st July 2025).

Dr. Amos Sangtam, Medical Officer, highlighted the ongoing activities under the School Health Program (RBSK). He spoke about the 3Ts—Test, Treat, and Talk—on anaemia. John Rick, MTS, gave a briefing on the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP).

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Lippiri Anar, Assistant Headmaster. Meanwhile, 1,500 sanitary pads were distributed to young girls, followed by a health screening session.
