Kohima, 21 September (MTNews): Kohima’s IG Stadium witnessed an electrifying clash as Yhome FC delivered a stunning 11-0 victory over NK Brothers FC in the ongoing NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2023 on Thursday.

In a remarkable display of skill and teamwork, Yhome FC netted six goals during the first half, followed by an additional five in the second. The star of the show was undoubtedly winger Yhoto Lohe, who scored an incredible six goals in the 7th, 12th, 15th, 56th, 60th, and 79th minutes. Kethoselie contributed two goals at the 20th and 40th-minute marks, while Vilhoubeituo, Avilie, and Metshetsho each added one goal in the 9th, 39th, and 73rd minutes, respectively.

 

Yhoto Lohe’s exceptional performance earned him the Man of the Match award, presented by Viketoulie Solo, General Secretary of the Kohima Village Youth Organization.

 

United FC Piphema soars in victory: Ayen’s heroics secure spot in next round

 

In the second match of the tournament, United FC Piphema showcased their prowess by defeating Reipicüzie FC Mezoma with a scoreline of 5-1, securing their spot in the next round. Ayen was the hero for United FC, delivering an outstanding performance with four goals at the 16th, 66th, 74th, and 76th-minute marks. Bris Taro added to the score sheet at the 46th minute. Notably, Reipicüzie FC’s only goal came as an own goal from United FC.

Ayen’s stellar performance earned him the title of Man of the Match, presented by Khriesamhailie David Mere, President of the Angami Students’ Union.
