Kohima, 5 August (MTNews): Zasivi FC emerged as champions of the 7-a-side Futsal Tournament held at Pro Turf Perizie, Kohima on Saturday evening.
In the final match, Zasivi FC defeated Red Scars (A) RED via tie-breakers with the score line of 4-2 after the thrilling match ended in 1-1 draw at the end of regulation time. It was Zasivi FC that managed to pull off the win, converting all the shots in the penalty shootout to take the title.
The two-day long tournament was organized by Khedi Baptist Fellowship, Themezie to raise funds for its Fellowship Building. A total of 32 teams from various corners of the State participated in the tournament.
Zasivi FC walked away with a cash reward of Rs 50,000/- while the Red Scars had to be contented as runners-up with a cash reward of Rs 30,000/-
The two semifinalists, Red Hornets and Anonymous FC, received a cash reward of Rs 10,000/- each.
Shalo Kemp of Red Scars (A) topped the goal scorers chart with 11 goals and received Rs 5,000/- whereas the Best Keeper Award was bagged by Imnasunep Jamir of Red SCARS (A) and received a Cash Reward of Rs 5,000/-. Menoneikho Nakhro of Zasivi FC was declared the Player of the Tournament and he too walked home richer by Rs 5,000/-.
The matches were conducted by Kohima District Football Referees Association.
