The Zhadima Students’ Union (ZSU) celebrated its Biennial Day on Wednesday, marked by the launch of the Zhadima Heritage Club (ZHC) under the theme “Honouring our Past, Shaping our Future.” Held at the Zhadima Community Hall, the event featured Neiyalie Pfüsenuo, Treasurer of the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA), as the keynote speaker.

In his address, Pfüsenuo underscored the critical role of education in shaping the future of individuals and society. He highlighted how education serves as a foundation for personal growth, professional success, and societal progress. Acknowledging the hopes and dreams parents place on their children, he reminded students of the immense responsibilities they bear.

Pfüsenuo encouraged students to view education as an opportunity to unlock their potential rather than merely a requirement. He stressed the importance of approaching studies with seriousness, diligence, and a clear sense of purpose.

Inspiring students to maintain focus on their goals, Pfüsenuo emphasized that determination and focus could help them overcome challenges, achieve aspirations, and contribute meaningfully to society. He urged them to give back to their communities and become agents of positive change, creating a ripple effect of progress and development.

He also encouraged athletically talented students to refine their sports skills while prioritizing education, emphasizing the importance of a balanced approach for holistic growth and success.

Recognizing Nagaland’s rising focus on sports, Pfüsenuo pointed out the state’s untapped potential in this sector and encouraged students to seize available opportunities.

Additionally, he urged the youth to uphold values such as respect and honour for elders, which foster blessings and communal harmony. He also highlighted the importance of preserving linguistic heritage, calling on the younger generation to actively learn and use Tenyidie, the native language.

Sharing the origins of Zhadima Village, Pfüsenuo captivated the audience with stories of their ancestral roots, stressing the importance of revisiting and understanding the community’s history as a foundation for its identity. Applauding the launch of the Zhadima Heritage Club, he described it as a crucial initiative to safeguard, nurture, and promote the community’s rich heritage.

He called on the community to rally around the club’s initiatives and actively contribute to its mission of preserving and promoting culture, ensuring the legacy is passed to future generations.

Neilalhoulie Soliezuo, Chairman of the Zhadima Village Council, exhorted students to embrace discipline and obedience as key virtues for success.

ZSU President Medolenuo Ambrocia Loucü extended her greetings, expressing gratitude for attendees’ support. She highlighted ZSU’s initiatives, including an annual cleanliness drive fostering environmental awareness, a felicitation program for meritorious Class 10 and 12 students, and the introduction of the ZSU Presidential Scholarship, which awards scholarships to two deserving students annually. Loucü also elaborated on the launch of the Zhadima Heritage Club as a cornerstone project for cultural preservation.

Vizosielie Khoubve, a member of the ZHC drafting committee, detailed the club’s vision and mission. He explained its focus on inclusivity and shared responsibility, aiming to preserve the village’s cultural and historical heritage through documentation, education, and community engagement.

Head GB Kedilezo M Keditsu announced the ZSU team for 2025–26, with Mhasizolie Metsieo as president, congratulating the incoming team and commending the outgoing members for their contributions.

The event, chaired by Razousituo Loucü, Speaker of the Northern Angami Students’ Union (NASU), began with an invocation by Pastor Ruokuongulie Chüpuo of A.G. Church, Zhadima Basa.

During the program, the club’s logo and a music video titled “Zhadizou Geizo” were launched. The video featured former Naga Idol Ruokuovotuo Pfüsenuo alongside Mhasizolie Metsieo, Vizosielie Khoubve, and Medolenuo Loucü.

Renowned Tenyidie singer Visetuo Chüpuo, Kikruvinuo Sanchu, and the Kimho Khel delighted the audience with musical and folk performances. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Duolhouvi-o Kuotsu, ILP Secretary, followed by the mass singing of “A Ra Kezivi.”
