Serves ultimatum to government; To stage ‘No Pay, No Work’ from Sept 5
Mokokchung, September 2 (MTNews): At least 103 Community Health Officers (CHOs) of Nagaland serving across 13 districts of the state have on Friday, September 2, served an ultimatum to the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland, demanding release of pending salaries and Performance Based Incentives (PBI).
In the ultimatum addressed to the Mission Director, National Health Mission, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Kohima, the CHOs stated that the affected CHOs have decided to follow a ‘No Pay, No Work’ slogan and cease all official work from September 5, 2022. The aggrieved CHOs stated that they shall resume work only after all the pending salaries and PBIs are released in full. They have also demanded that the pending salaries and PBIs should be released only by the NHM.
The aggrieved CHOs stated that the National Health Mission, under the department of Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland, have failed to release the salaries since April of 2022 and Performance Based Incentives (PBI) since January of 2022 for 103 Community Health Officers (CHO) posted across the state.
The CHOs also stated, “neither the section, nor the department have given any legitimate explanation as to the aforementioned issue or when the problem be solved.”
Among the 103 CHOs, 9 are from Mokokchung district.
