Nagaland Advisor for Information & Public Relations, Soil & Water Conservation, Imkong L Imchen, will inaugurate the 26th Nagaland Inter-District & State Table Tennis Championship 2023 today at the Multi-purpose Sports Complex, Mokokchung.

This 4-day table tennis event, scheduled from the 23rd to the 26th of October, will be hosted by the Mokokchung District Table Tennis Association (MDTTA) under the aegis of the Nagaland Table Tennis Association (NTTA).

A total of over 110 players are anticipated to participate in the championship, representing 12 districts in the team event, while as many as 50 players are expected to compete in the open category.

Joining the host district, Mokokchung, the twelve districts that have confirmed their participation in this championship include Longleng, Mon, Kiphire, Phek, Shamator, Zunheboto, Wokha, Kohima, Dimapur, Niuland, and Chümoukedima.

Chümoukedima district enters the tournament as the reigning team champions in the Men’s team category, while Kohima district defends their title in the Women’s team category.

In the open category, Dijanglung Kamson of Peren, a formidable force in Nagaland’s table tennis circuit, holds the title of Men’s Singles Champion for the 5th consecutive time, having remained undefeated in this category while Kesinuo Dzüvichu of Kohima, is the defending Women’s Singles champion.

According to the organizers, Temjenmoa, the Proprietor of Nagaland Minerals and Mines, has generously donated three international standard TT boards to the association, which will be used for the tournament.
