Kohima, 5 June (MTNews): Nagaland Police Taekwondo excelled at the 2nd Open Indian International Taekwondo Championship 2023, held at Bangalore’s Koramangala Indoor Stadium on June 3rd and 4th. The team secured an impressive total of four medals, including two gold and two silver medals.
Led by ABSI Seyievilie Nakhro, the DGP Sports Team Taekwondo Coach, four police personnel represented Nagaland in the championship. In the men’s category, Tsutanmong claimed the gold medal in the under 63 kg division, while Merichan Kikon and Mongkai Phom achieved silver medals in the under 54 kg and under 74 kg divisions, respectively. In the women’s category, Antimonyu Chang triumphed with a gold medal in the Under 62 kg division.
Additionally, the Nagaland Police Taekwondo Team was recognized as the Best Disciplined Team, adding to their accomplishments in the championship.
