Gameweek 3 of the 35+ Mokokchung Football League, played at Imkongmeren Sports Complex on 13 April, produced results that did not significantly alter the points table, as the top four teams remained unchanged.
However, Senso FC was knocked down to the bottom of the table after a dismal performance against table-toppers Wasang FC.
In the first match of the day, New Ecclesia secured a narrow victory over Trebuchet FC with a lone goal. Moatemsu Jamir found the net in the dying moments of the first half, securing New Ecclesia’s second win of the season. This triumph places New Ecclesia in third position on the table with six points.
Maintaining their dominance, Wasang FC remains at the top of the league table after a convincing 3-0 win against Senso FC in the day’s second match. Wasang FC controlled the game entirely, capitalizing on Senso FC’s shortfall in player numbers as they turned up with only 10 players. Senso FC is yet to register a goal this season and sits at the bottom of the table with no points. Imliwapang, Chubangangnen, and Chubayanger scored for Wasang FC in the 14th, 17th, and 56th minutes respectively.
In the final fixture of the day, defending champions Revenant FC extended their perfect run with a 1-0 victory over Terokroker FC. Rongsenchiba, the seasoned player, once again proved instrumental by netting the decisive goal in the 60th minute.
