Nagaland goalkeeper James Kithan won the I-League 2023-24 title with Mohammedan Sporting Club on Saturday. This marks his second I-League trophy, having previously won the title with Gokulam Kerala FC in the 2021-22 season. He stands as the first and only Nagaland player to achieve this feat. Meanwhile, Mohammedan Sporting Club has paved its way back to the Indian Super League (ISL) – subject to fulfilling the club licensing criteria – after a decade-long absence following its relegation at the end of the 2013-14 season.
