Season 4 of the 35+ Mokokchung Football League resumed at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex on Saturday after a brief hiatus owing to the most recent MDFA Trophy that concluded on Friday at the same venue.
In the first match of the day, Revenant FC secured a dominant victory. Moakaba opened the scoring for Revenant FC in the 9th minute but it was Temsutoshi who stole the spotlight with a remarkable hat-trick, netting goals in the 23rd, 38th, and 51st minutes. Imcharen (42 minutes) and Tiayanger (49 minutes) also added to the tally for the league leaders.
Toshimeren managed to score one for Trebuchet in the 55th minute, but the day belonged to Revenant. This victory solidified Revenant’s position at the top of the points table, sitting 3 points ahead of Terokroker FC after both teams completed eight games each. Trebuchet, on the other hand, dropped to fourth place in the standings after the loss.
In the second match of the day, Wasang FC defeated Senso FC by 4-0 goals and climbed to the third position in the league standings while Senso FC, with just 1 point from 8 matches, now finds themselves languishing at the bottom of the table. Chubaangnen, Repa, Bendang, and Akang were the goal scorers for Wasang FC.
Terokroker FC also achieved a crucial win on the day against New Ecclesia, staying in close pursuit of the table-toppers, Revenant FC, who maintain a 3-point lead. Merenshinba and Tiawati were the goal scorers for Terokroker.
