The Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland State Branch held its 37th Annual General Meeting ceremonial function on November 27, 2024, at Dr. Imkongliba Ao Hall, Raj Bhavan.

In his presidential address, the Governor, as the President of the organization, lauded the society’s legacy of hope, service, and compassion since its establishment in 1982. He emphasized that the meeting was not merely an administrative gathering but a celebration of the tireless efforts of members, volunteers, and supporters who strive to make a meaningful impact in the community.

Reflecting on the past year, the Governor expressed pride and gratitude for the milestones achieved despite challenges like natural disasters and conflicts. He highlighted the society’s resilience and its unwavering commitment to providing humanitarian aid where needed most.

The Governor underlined that social service transcends duty, embodying the essence of giving—time, resources, and compassion. This spirit of selflessness, he noted, unites the Red Cross in its mission of fostering humanity, impartiality, and voluntary service.

He acknowledged the leadership of General Secretary Akhale V. Khamo, whose efforts have been pivotal in expanding the society’s reach by establishing new branches in Shamator, Niuland, and Chümoukedima, along with sub-branches in Jalukie and Peren. The Governor also praised her exemplary leadership during relief operations in Manipur and commended the contributions of Helena Yepthomi, whose dedication continues to inspire.

Looking ahead, the Governor highlighted the proposed Rehabilitation Centre for Alcoholics and Drug Addicts in Kohima, urging corporate organizations to support the initiative through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. He stressed the need to strengthen disaster preparedness, build branch capacity, and engage youth to ensure the sustainability of the society’s mission.

The Governor encouraged members, volunteers, and patrons to continue their noble work with renewed vigor, ensuring the society remains a beacon of hope for those in need.

During the program, patrons and vice patrons were recognized with decorations, and awards were presented to the Voluntary Blood Donors Association, Helena Yepthomi, and Peren district. The Governor also launched a Blood App, developed by Rishav Sethi, to enhance accessibility to blood donation services.

The event began with an invocation, celebrated the achievements of the past year, and concluded with the reaffirmation of the Indian Red Cross Society’s commitment to serving humanity with empathy and determination.

One thing I’ve noticed is that often there are plenty of common myths regarding the finance institutions intentions whenever talking about property foreclosure. One fantasy in particular is the bank desires your house. The lender wants your dollars, not your house. They want the amount of money they loaned you with interest. Staying away from the bank will undoubtedly draw the foreclosed conclusion. Thanks for your posting.
