Mokokchung, December 7 (MTNews): The 4th Nagaland Hornbill Angling Competition 2022 organized by the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Government of Nagaland in collaboration with Anglers Association Nagaland hosted by Anglers Association Mokokchung at Star Fisheries, Japu Village was held on December 6 & 7.

 

 

 

 

Rongsennungba, Director of fisheries and Aquatic Resources shared the warmest greetings, emphasized on the promotion of Angling as a sport in Nagaland and that in the coming days proper attention will be given to the sport as it helps in conserving and preserving the environment and rivers as a whole.

 

Joint Director, Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Newitho Kuotsu welcomed all present and lead the 4th Nagaland Angling Festival closing and Felicitation program. Japu village council Chairman welcomed and thanked all for coming.

 

Special Guest, T Lankonsen Tsanglao, ADC Mangkolemba congratulated the department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources and AAN for successfully organizing the 4th Angling Festival and congratulated the AAM for successfully hosting the event. He also stressed that village councils should focus on preserving the rivers and the forest resources.

 

General Secretary AAN, Mhonbemo Ngullie gave away the prizes to the winners of the competition. Mon Gurung concluded the program with his vote of thanks.

 

A total of 150 anglers participated in the competition.

 

Kowato with 0.485 gms, James with 0.470 gms and Mosem with 0.400gms were the first, second and third place winners of the competition respectively.
