Guwahati, October 15: Calling it a ‘significant day for the medical sector in Assam and the North East’, Hayat Super Specialty Hospital, a leading hospital in the North East, launched a health service titled STEMI ASSAM which was inaugurated by Keshav Mahanta, Minister of Health, Assam at a solemn function at Hotel Novotel on Saturday evening.

 

The service which is launched under STEMI INDIA organization is set to provide special assistance to people suffering from heart disease while working to raise awareness about heart disease. STEMI ASSAM aims to play an important role in raising awareness among the general public about Heart disease which is a chronic disease in the world today and is also widespread in India and the North East.

 

The STEMI ASSAM project, led by Dr. Chinmoy Majumder, Senior Cardiologist, Hayat Hospital, will cover various hospitals in Assam providing access to modern medical technology and medical advice, according to reports.

 

“This journey will usher in a good day in Hayat. We should be proud today that Hayat Hospital has added a new dimension to the health sector in Assam. Hayat Hospital is serving Assam. We cannot divide medicine into government and non-government. Our goal should be to develop better technologies and services. Today I am happy to learn about STEMI ASSAM at Hayat Hospital,” the Health Minister

 

“We are trying to ensure that people in Assam and the North East get better medical services like other hospitals in India. We will work tirelessly to ensure that STEMI ASSAM can play a good role in treating heart diseases in Assam. We are confident that it will help the people.” The hospital authorities added.

 

The event which also included a seminar among various doctors at Hayat to discuss heart disease, kidney diseases etc. was attended by Dr. Anup Kumar Burman, Director, Directorate of Medical Education, Assam, Dr. Ajit, Dr. Chinmay Majumder, Co-Founder, Stemi India, Ayaskant Chakraborty, Executive Director, Hayat Hospital, doctors and journalists invited from Assam and North East.
