Yes, the most anticipated season is here! And like every year, this tradition of Children Christmas Cake Carol Competition, which is held annually by the MTBA Youth Department since 1989, is the event that every child has been looking forward to after their school let out.
The XXXIV Children Christmas Cake Carol Competition organized by Mokokchung Town Baptist Church Youth Department will be held on December 20 from 5:00 PM onwards at the town square. More than 800 children between the ages of 6 to 12 will be participating in the competition that has virtually become a part of Christmas tradition in Mokokchung town.

The residents of Mokokchung share the view that C5 is what makes Christmas joyful and unique in Mokokchung town.
“Who wouldn’t want to see little kids in their adorable uniforms performing Christmas songs in unison with some choreography?” said Moa who claims to be a fan of the competition despite him being long past the age of being eligible to be in the competition.
“The cake has never been the main focus. It is the excitement that our kids feel when they go to practice,” one of the parents remarked. “It is a fantastic feeling when one of our kids wakes up eager to join their friends in learning a C5 song,” she adds. “C5 is what gets kids excited for Christmas,” her friend chimed in.
“Without the C5, the season would have been monotonous,” another parent said. “Our daughter has been thrilled to be busier than us ever since she joined the practice sessions.”
Mokokchung is ready for another Christmas December night experience as the appointed date draws nearer and is ready to be fascinated by those little angels once more starting at 5 o’clock tonight.
