He appealed to the voters to not be disheartened and asked them to “vote for what you really want, for what change you want to see.”

Speaking on the number of national leaders that addressed several election rallies, he said that the AICC President has made things very clear that he will uphold the ‘aspiration of the people of Nagaland’.

According to him, the Congress is clear on upholding Article 371 (A) and implementing the “agreed political solution” if the party is given an opportunity in 2024 and claimed that the Congress is the only party serious about finding a settlement to the Naga political issue.

On the contrary, he accused Modi of being indifferent to the interest of the Nagas and how he failed to address the Naga political issue in his February 24 speech.
“Modi has forgotten his promise to settle the Naga political problem,” he said.

“The only party which has committed to uphold the integrity of Nagaland, the only party that has committed to restore governance is the Congress. No other political party has concern about law and order and resolving the political issue,” he added.

Therie went on to predict that on March 2 there would be infighting between the NDPP-BJP alliance and its partners.

“I am confident that the BJP and alliance will land into trouble after a few months. It is not going to be a comfortable government,” he said and implied the idea of secular-minded parties coming together quoting Kharge’s speech that “Congress will also have a government here in Nagaland.”

Therie, who is contesting from 1 Dimapur I AC said the Dimapur I is ‘no more than a slum area’ and pointed out how the constituency lacks the basics like water supply, drainage, waste management and said that the road in the constituency do not even have black toppings.

He also slammed the State government for being apathetic despite complaints from the people.
