New Delhi, 12 August (MTNews): A mega voluntary blood donation camp from North East and other volunteers was organized on 12 August by the Naga Students’ Union Delhi (NSUD) in collaboration with Special Police Unit for North East Region (SPUNER), AIIMS, BLK Max Super Speciality Hospital and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi.
The objective of the camp was to ensure availability of blood to patients from North East admitted in various hospitals across Delhi – NCR where NE people frequently go for treatment, NSUD said in an update.
The Blood Donation camp was conducted at three different sites: Community Centre Police Colony, Hauz khas; BLK Max Super Speciality, Rajendra Place; and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Old Rajinder Nagar.
More than 100 donors participated in the blood donation camp. Volunteers and medical professionals were present at the sites to facilitate the blood donations, it was informed. The camp saw participation from members of the 20 Naga tribal student bodies under the banner of NSUD as well as individuals from other communities. All necessary arrangements were made by the NSUD and SPUNER in collaboration with hospitals to ensure the comfort and well-being of the donors, including a resting area and refreshments.
Dr Lorho S Pfoze, Member of Parliament, Outer Manipur and Chief Advisor to NSUD; Ramnganing Muivah, Manipur Legislative Assembly from Ukhrul District; Wennyei Konyak, JRC, Nagaland House, New Delhi; Dr Hentok Phom, Joint Director, Health and Family Welfare Department; P N Khrimey, IPS Jt CP SPUNER & SPUWAC; SPUNER Team; NSUD Advisory Board; and former NSUD leaders graced the event at different sites.
The event was a grand success made possible due to the full support and cooperation from BLK-MAX Super Specialty Hospital, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, AIIMS-Delhi and the various individuals/agencies aforementioned, NSUD added.
