Mon, 21 September (MTNews): The Deputy Commissioner of Mon Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS; Dr Mereninla Senlem, the Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Mon, and the Hospital Management Committee (HMC) expressed their gratitude to the Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Paiwang Konyak. Their acknowledgment comes in recognition of Minister Konyak’s dedicated efforts to enhance the healthcare system at Mon District Hospital, which serves as the sole secondary referral health center for the entire district.

During the recent surge of a dengue outbreak in August, Minister Paiwang Konyak personally visited Mon District Hospital on 21 August to assess the situation concerning manpower, medication, and other essential requirements. As a result of his proactive intervention, the hospital received additional manpower from various locations across the district on 16 September 2023. The manpower allocation includes four Medical Officers, ten Nurses, and five Lab Technicians. This augmentation significantly bolstered the hospital’s capacity to address the healthcare needs of the community.

Furthermore, the Committee expressed its deep appreciation to Minister Konyak for his initiative in procuring and donating a much-needed Complete Blood Count (CBC) machine to the hospital. The machine, urgently required, is set to be installed this week. This valuable addition will further enhance the hospital’s diagnostic capabilities, ensuring prompt and accurate medical care for patients.
