Gameweek 2 of the 35+ Mokokchung Football League Season-5 witnessed Wasang FC secure a crucial victory on Saturday, maintaining their top position by defeating Terokroker FC with a solitary goal at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex. Both teams entered the match with one win each from the previous weekend, but Tsupongtsuba’s goal in the 10th minute ensured Wasang FC’s second consecutive victory.
In the second match of the day, New Ecclesia FC triumphed over Senso FC with a 2-0 scoreline, courtesy of a brace from Moatemsu Jamir.
In the third match, defending champions Revenant FC clinched a hard-fought win against Trebuchet FC, thanks to a goal in the 8th minute of the match by veteran Rongsenchiba.
Wasang FC and Revenant FC are the only two teams in the league to have won both matches played so far. They are tied on points, but Wasang FC leads the table on goal difference. Meanwhile, Senso FC and Trebuchet FC, both of which narrowly lost their respective games today, are yet to secure any points on the table.
