This exciting development follows the recently concluded Mokokchung Inter Ward Football Tournament (MIWFT) 2024. MYA had previously announced their plans to facilitate such an opportunity, and they have now delivered on their promise.

At a brief send-off program held at the Tongdentsüyong Ward Community Hall, MIWFT 2024 convenor Bendangnukshi addressed the players, praising them as “pathfinders” who could pave the way for more players in the future. Saying that they were creating history, the convenor added that they also have a huge responsibility on their shoulders.

He added that Hawk Football Academy has a proven track record, recently placing players with clubs and academies in Rajasthan and Mumbai.

The MYA representative stressed the importance of discipline and hard work during the trials. “This is not a leisure trip,” he declared, urging the players to be focused and strive for excellence. He expressed his hope that this trip would be fruitful and that some of these talented players would be scouted by professional clubs.

Bendangnukshi also extended his appreciation to the supportive parents and well-wishers. The send-off ceremony concluded with a prayer fellowship led by Lima Lemtur, deacon of MTBA.

This initiative by the MYA signifies a significant step for aspiring footballers in Mokokchung, potentially opening doors to wider recognition and opportunities within the sport. The ten young players now embark on their journey, carrying the hopes of their town and the dreams of a footballing future.
