The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Midland Unit, Ward No. 9, Kohima organized a rally in support of their candidate, Kekhrieselhou Angami (Neiu Metha), on 19 June 2024 at APO Hall, Upper Midland. The event saw a large turnout of supporters and community members, underscoring strong local backing for the candidate, a press release said.
Under the stewardship of Victor Sogotsu, Chief Agent, the rally commenced with an invocation by Rev. Medoneiu Usoü, Pastor of Midland Baptist Church, followed by a welcome address by Atanu Theyo, PS to the Minister of Women Resources Development & Horticulture.
Eminent speakers delivered impactful addresses, including Salhoutuonuo Kruse, Minister of Women Resources Development & Horticulture; Dr Kekhrie Yhome, Advisor to School Education & SCERT; Dr Neiphrezo Keditsu, Advisor to CM & Chairman of Nagaland Khadi & Village Industries Board; Prasielie Pienyü, President of NDPP Kohima Region & Chairman of NHHDCL, Govt. of Nagaland; and Neivikuolie Khatsu, General Secretary of NDPP (Central).
Special cultural performances by Kivito and Arenchenla added a festive spirit to the occasion, reflecting the candidate’s family’s support and involvement.
The highlight of the rally was an impassioned speech by Kekhrieselhou Angami (Neiu Metha), where he articulated his vision and commitment to enhancing the welfare and development of Ward No. 9.
Madi Koso, President of the Midland Unit, NDPP, delivered a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all attendees and supporters for their overwhelming participation and encouragement.
