The All Ward Union Mokokchung Town (AWUMT) has retracted its notification published in this newspaper on June 18, 2024, which mentioned their role in the lead-up to the ULB elections 2024 and their guidelines for conducting “Free and Fair” elections in the Mokokchung Municipal Council election.
When asked if the retraction indicated that the AWUMT was abandoning its commitment to “Free and Fair” elections, the AWUMT President clarified that this was not the case. Saying that he could not disclose further details at this time, he added that a presidential council meeting of AWUMT would be held in due course on the matter.
