All Glory to Almighty God and greetings to all, on this historic day of the celebration of Independence Day.

Solemn Salute and respects to all Naga patriots and martyrs.

On this day, we are once again reminded of our forefathers, the GOLDEN GENERATION who with their God given wisdom and foresight declared Independence; with the intent of freeing ourselves as a Nation from the foreign occupational forces, so as to live independently as a sovereign Naga Nation for Christ.

Therefore, echoing the actions of the Golden generation, we should start celebrating everyday in spirit and in action as an independent Nation does rather than just celebrating one day in a year.

Sadly, we seem awfully distracted and have lost sight of the historical and political legacy that we have inherited from our forefathers; which has not only stunted our sacred Naga National movement but has brought about divisions amongst us, which only further weaken and undermine our sacred Naga National movement.

Nagas have reached a critical political juncture where all Nagas unitedly should have the courage to take forward our declaration of Independence into Nation building and not the break up our Nation. Naga leaders and intellectuals should be mindful before commenting or taking any action as to whether it would benefit the Nagas or India in the long run.

NSCN/GPRN is under no illusion as to the Herculean task before the Nagas and are ready to steadfastly work towards our political aspirations.

Kuknalim.

Gen. Nik Sumi (Retd.)
President
