Team Manager Mhasimhalie Mathew Yhome acknowledged that despite the players’ best efforts, the Chhattisgarh team was physically and tactically superior. He assured that the team will give their best in the upcoming matches. Yhome also mentioned that this year, the Nagaland team qualified for the tournament without any issues related to age fraud, unlike some other teams. He noted that teams from Assam, Manipur, and Bihar have been disqualified due to age tampering.

According to reports, a Skeletal Age Estimation Test was conducted on Sunday as per the tournament regulations and the criteria set by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) to curb age fraud. In the last edition, 15 teams, including Nagaland, were disqualified from the tournament for fielding overage players.

Nagaland will play their next match on August 20 against CISCE. A total of 36 teams representing different states are vying for the championship, divided into eight groups. The group winners will qualify for the quarterfinals. The group stage matches will continue until August 23.
