C-Edge College, under the auspices of the Department of Management Studies, commemorated World Entrepreneurs Day 2024 with the theme “Celebrating Groundbreakers Who Transform Ideas into Reality” on 21 August 2024. The program aimed to celebrate and acknowledge entrepreneurs while fostering an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset among students. The event took place at the GK Auditorium and featured an array of insightful sessions and discussions.
The host, Tunavi Swu from BBA 5th Semester, smoothly led the proceedings. The program commenced with an invocation by Chaam from BBA 3rd Semester, a member of the college EU. This was followed by an inspiring opening address by Wapanginla Ao, Head of the Department and Dean of Management Studies, who set the tone for the day by emphasizing the significance of the event.
A dynamic panel discussion followed, featuring the Kaki Marketing team and moderated by Thejasikho Vakha from BBA 5th Semester. Led by Managing Director Kakivi Chishi, the discussion focused on current business trends and strategies.
A distinctive feature of the event was the official announcement of the establishment of the Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) at C-Edge College, in collaboration with Educentre Business School and the Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Nagaland. Incale Iswarang, EDC Coordinator and Social Media Manager of Educentre, delivered a brief introduction about the EDC and its processes.
Later in the program, Shiva Prasad Dey, Assistant Professor from the Department of Management Studies, highlighted the successful conclusion of the business venture competition, “The Entrepreneur,” which had been ongoing during the summer break. Team Hains Enterprise, comprising Hito Assumi, Akivipu, Sneha, Ningthuiliu, and Imnamongla from BBA 1st Semester, was declared the 2024 winner.
This year, the event also featured the presentation of the University Level Merit Awards, which were postponed from July due to a clash of result dates. Dr Chubatola Aier, Principal of C-Edge College, presided over the awards ceremony, where the Laurel Merit Award for students and departments, the Balakrishnan Ramanathan Award for the EVS Topper, and the Viwhesieno (Tsuno) Award for the Girls’ Topper were presented. The event concluded with Seema Debnath, Assistant Professor from the Department of Management Studies, delivering the vote of thanks.
