In a noble initiative, the Assam Rifles organized a National Integration Tour (NIT) for a group of 20 school children, along with four teachers from Government Higher Secondary School, Meluri, in Phek district.

The tour was flagged off in the presence of Nyusietho Nyuthe, Advisor for New & Renewable Energy and NSDMA, Nagaland. This 15-day tour aims to broaden their horizons, fostering national unity and pride.

The journey began from the Assam Rifles Camp at Meluri, with parents and teachers seeing off the students as they embarked on their journey to prominent cities, including Bangalore, Belgaum, and Delhi. The tour is designed to expose the students to India’s rich cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and iconic institutions.

By interacting with peers from diverse backgrounds, the children will learn essential life skills such as teamwork, communication, and adaptability. They will visit the Para Regimental Training Centre and the ASC Training Centre, along with major tourist attractions like Lal Bagh, Cubbon Park, and Vidhan Sabha in Bangalore, followed by the Maratha Light Infantry Centre, the Infantry Wing, and various waterfalls.

The tour’s final destination will be Delhi, where students will visit India Gate, which stands tall as an epitome of national unity and sacrifice. The tour will conclude with a flag-in ceremony at IGAR(N), Kohima.

By investing in the future of Northeast India’s youth, the Assam Rifles reaffirms its commitment to nation-building and community development in the truest sense as friends of the Hill People.
