The Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, graced the grand finale of the Fusion of the Bands Season 2, organized by the Spear Corps under Operation Sadbhavana. The event, held at the Rangapahar Military Station, was a celebration of musical talent, artistic expression, and national unity.
Governor Ganesan expressed his honor and delight in attending the finale, commending the initiative as an important platform for empowering the youth of Nagaland. He extended his congratulations to the General Officer Commanding of the 3 Corps, Lieutenant General Abhijit S Pendharkar, and the entire Spear Corps fraternity for conceptualizing and hosting such a remarkable event. He praised their commitment to promoting cultural and artistic expression among the youth, emphasizing that the event not only celebrated talent but also fostered unity, which lies at the heart of the nation’s ethos.
“Nagaland is a myriad of cultures, traditions and artistic heritage,” the Governor remarked. He highlighted the beautiful fusion of Naga artists’ musical passion with the universal appeal of Hindi music, describing it as a testament to India’s “Unity in Diversity.” He noted that through their melodies and rhythms, the participants were not just showcasing their talents but also promoting harmony that transcends barriers and resonates with the spirit of the nation.
The Governor also spoke on the significance of Hindi in India’s multicultural society. He emphasized that Hindi, as a medium of communication, serves as a bridge connecting people across the country, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Gujarat to Nagaland. “Promoting Hindi is not about overshadowing local dialects and cultures, but about creating an additional channel to express our shared identity as Indians,” he said, adding that by embracing Hindi, the youth were strengthening national unity.
Governor Ganesan lauded the Spear Corps for their visionary efforts under Operation Sadbhavana.
“Initiatives like these not only nurture talents but also promotes national unity and deepen the bond between the armed forces and civilian communities, reinforcing our shared commitment to peace and progress,” he said.
The Governor expressed hope that the event would inspire all to stand together as one nation, united by respect, creativity, and mutual understanding. “May the melodies of our Naga youth remind us of our collective strength,” he said.
